End of...Crispin

My heart is heavy as I have just finished the last novel in the three novel series of Crispin.  Literally, I had the book open on my lap while driving and had to keep reading at every red light!  I promise I didn't "read and drive"!  I have so grown to love this character that my heart aches that my "relationship" with Crispin is over :-(!  I loved seeing him grow up, change, develop confidence, and grow into the man that he hoped he would, but still keep his boyish emotions.  What a well written novel!!! The history behind the story is incredible and Avi's knowledge and research (although I wouldn't know it if it was wrong) seemed amazingly accurate and just rich with details.  My only hope was to see more of Harry Potter type of ending where we get to see Crispin grow up, marry, and find out just how his life turns out.  Thank you Avi!  And Crispin, I bid you adieu, or however they say goodbye in Iceland!

These are youtube videos about Crispin made by students that could inspire your students to make their own:

This is a webquest that looks like it was created by a student for students.  Interesting info on Crispin vocabulary, historical events, facebook page, etc.
