Another Win for DiCamillo

Although I finished this book in literally two days, my heart and mind is still trying to digest the message of this story.  I have read most of DiCamillo's novels, in fact, I have chosen to complete an author study with her as the author.  I must say, I was very intrigued by this story in the beginning, but as it progressed I wasn't sure if I was really enjoying it.  It seemed to jump from story to story with odd wording and such that just seemed so incongruent and choppy.  But as the story came together, it was as if the darkness and clouds cleared and the message of her story was illuminated.  Quite incredible how she can do that.  I have more I would like to post about this book, particularly some powerful one liners that kind of cut me to the core.

And one more thing I would like to point out about DiCamillo is that she carefully chooses an artist to go with her story, to create the visual mood of her words, and Yoko Tanaka did not disappoint.  h
